I watched some youtuber talking about “old way of site” and some even teach how to code. I personally interested in making text heavy site, so if I can diy my site without even worry about buying website name (domain?) and hosting, then it’s a win.

Before I sign up to the neocities, I brainstorming my homepage layout, which dark color to use, which things go where, just basically all. I want to make it simple, somewhat want to copy some people that make the homepage looks like a business card or a facebook homepage. I decided to make it plain because I’m just that lazy.

It started with just some menus, a picture (IDK what picture, maybe my illustration), and some social. And I added some copyright thing in the end because a lot of “big site” use that. Adding some “about” bellow the picture. Some social even if I havent make half of the social. Language selection of En/Fr, I mean why not. Maybe even more later. At least it’s not a 0.

The tutorial, tho..

I began to sign up and verify my neocities. Unlike the video tutorial on youtube that have 3 options, wheather you have 0 knowledge of coding, maybe a bit of coding, or you know coding very well, maybe now I can’t skip it. The tutorial is in a comic form teaching step by step. If you have your own code, DO NOT copy paste it. It want to teach you from 0 to the point that if you copy and paste yours, you still need to tweak it every step.

I dont know that tho, I just copy past my code from my notes thinking the tutorial just know that my code is just fine and all. You need to add a title even if you dont want to. Need a link on the paragraph, even if you already added link to your social. I made it before bed, thinking I can just copy paste the code. Nope. In the end, I rage quited it and just went to sleep.

1 to 10 step. Do it when you are fully awake in a stable emotion. If you have PC/laptop, do the tutorial there instead of tablet let alone phone (for some reason, it keep crolling up when I edit my code using tablet). If you use tablet, maybe type things on notepad app on your tablet first. You can copy paste it later on.
